Luca Papi

Bio

Performs management and coordination activities for the design phases, processing of particularly complex technological and/or professional activities for the protection, conservation, and enhancement of cultural heritage, through the use of innovative IoT (Internet of Things) technologies and integrated security systems in the context of managing and coordinating accessibility and safety (safety&security), both under normal conditions and in emergency situations of cultural sites.

He was responsible for the CNR's Accessibility Working Group and represented the CNR in the Working Group of the D.G. Museums of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism (MiBACT – today MiC) for the drafting of the Guidelines for overcoming architectural, cultural, sensory-perceptual, and cognitive barriers in places of cultural interest.

From 2016 to 2020, he was the CNR responsible for the Pilot Project jointly promoted by MiBACT and CNR called Smart@Pompei, aimed at developing a replicable integrated technological demonstrator also in other contexts to manage the safety of people and monuments, both under normal and emergency conditions.

From April 2012 to October 2017, he worked at the CNR's Department of Engineering, ICT and Technologies for Energy and Transport (DIITET), particularly dealing with the management and coordination of the design and processing of particularly complex technological and/or professional activities of the department in the following thematic areas: safety, smart cities and communities, cultural heritage, aerospace, aeronautics, and air transport.

From July 2008 to April 2012, he worked at the CNR's Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), supporting the activities of the Interdepartmental Security Project and the related National Technological Platforms structured based on the European Technology Platforms (ETPs, European Technology Platforms).

2003 – Degree in Materials Engineering, University of Perugia.
2001 – D.U. in Materials for the Maintenance of Ancient and Modern Buildings, University of Perugia - Faculty of Engineering (Terni branch) Professional Qualifications Safety and Civil Protection Engineer (section A - industrial sector). Junior Architect (section B).
