A new DSU for the relaunching of the CNR

The new Department of Social sciences and humanities, cultural heritage (DSU), in line with the CNR’s Relaunch Plan, reorganizes and refocuses on research coordination activities to enhance and systematize the department’s many expertise. The goal is to promote synergies among institutes, increase project opportunities and develop new research areas in the humanities and social sciences and cultural heritage (SSH/CH).

The Humanities and Social Sciences for sustainable and equitable development

DSU’s renewed mission emphasizes the importance of the humanities and social sciences in pursuing sustainable and equitable development, as outlined in the National Research Plan 2021-2027. This vision is in line with the goals of the European Union and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to reduce inequalities of all kinds and contrast social exclusion.
