After the first meeting in Paris, the two-day CNR–CNRS–CSIC meeting will bring together leading representatives of the Italian, French, and Spanish national research councils to explore shared scientific priorities and foster inter-institutional collaboration.
Day 1 opens with institutional greetings and an introduction by representatives of CNR, CNRS, and CSIC, setting the stage for a series of thematic sessions. The morning focuses on major contemporary transformations, beginning with a panel on the Green Transition and followed by a session on Digital Humanities and Artificial Intelligence, each guided by expert chairs and discussants. After lunch, the programme addresses the role of research in Science for Diplomacy and International Relations, followed by a session dedicated to Cultural Heritage, highlighting interdisciplinary approaches and European perspectives. The day concludes with a roundtable (or, alternatively, an open lesson) reflecting on the contributions of the humanities and social sciences to diversity, cultural inclusion, civic participation, and innovation.
Day 2 opens with a lecture by Patrizio Bianchi on the future European and global socio-economic landscape. Thematic discussions then move to societal dynamics, with sessions on socio-demographic challenges—including youth, ageing, vulnerability, disability, and migration—followed by a panel on inequalities and their policy implications. The meeting concludes with a wrap-up session led by the representatives of CNR, CNRS, and CSIC, synthesising the insights and outlining future collaborative directions.
