Abstract

This document presents an integrated approach to Accessible Pathways, conceived as landscape experiences to be enjoyed independently and safely, while addressing the needs of every individual. Landscape accessibility allows people to reach and appreciate cultural and natural sites in line with the principles of participation and equal opportunity, fostering social and cultural dialogue. This approach aligns with the concept of “Tourism for All”, promoting an participatory image of territories and enhancing the country’s heritage while supporting psychological well-being and the full realization of individuals’ Life Project, as established by Legislative Decree No. 62/2024.

The Policy Brief proposes actions on the Ergonomics of Pathways, inspired by Design for All: planned management and maintenance, accessible services and facilities, staff training, and innovative communication tools. The goal is to foster sustainable and inclusive tourism, enhancing local territories through the engagement of administrators, entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and younger generations. This work continues the research presented in the Manual for the Design of Accessibility and Extended Enjoyment of Cultural Heritage (CNR Edizioni) and serves as an addendum to that publication.
